Dr Dovini Sooriyabandara

Dr Dovini Sooriyabandara is an Australian trained doctor having graduated from Adelaide University in 2003. She then worked at Westmead Hospital, Westmead Children's Hospital, Blacktown Hospital and Concord Hospitals before transitioning to General Practice.

Dr Sooriyabandara has worked in general practice in the Hills District since 2007 and has an understanding of the health needs and services in the local area.

Dr Sooriyabandara is involved in the training and education of the future generation of doctors. She previously worked as a Medical Educator for GP trainees, and currently supervises GP registrars and medical students. Dr Sooriyabandara is an Examiner for the RACGP.

Special interests:

• Paediatrics such as childhood development, immunisations

• Women's health such as pre-pregnancy counselling, early pregnancy related care, menopause

• Mental health such as depression, anxiety, eating disorder management

• Chronic disease management such as cardiovascular disease, diabetes, osteoporosis, asthma, thyroid disease

Her passion is incorporating sustained lifestyle changes to medicine to achieve the best possible health outcomes for her patients. 

In her spare time she enjoys reading and dancing.
